Mr. Stearns was the Founder and President of Engineered Environments, one of the nation’s largest and best reputed custom residential systems integration firms. He subsequently led an industry consolidation that merged Engineered Environments with six other industry leaders to form VIA International, Inc. Through 2014, Randy acted as CEO of VIA which operates in 8 western states with 350 employees and $70M+ in revenues. Now seated as CEO of D-Tools, Inc., the uncontested market leading software solution (serving 7,000+ system integrators in 90+ countries), where he deals with residential system integrators daily. Mr. Stearn has been an active volunteer for CEDIA, the industry’s trade association, and served on the CEDIA Board of Directors of for eight years including a term as Chairman.
Presented with the CEDIA Lifetime Achievement Award in SEP 2019, Mitchell Klein is a ground breaking visionary and hands-on implementation executive, presently ‘writing the next chapters’ in the Internet of Things (IOT) and Smart Home technology and practice. He has an enviable reputation for identifying marketplace gaps & opportunities that can be satisfied with the creative use of innovative technology, strategic marketing and through a disciplined and experienced approach, formulate strategies, build an organization, and execute the agenda to deliver the P&L to the shareholders. Klein’s career has included systems integration management to business strategy and development, but above all he is a 30+ year industry veteran in IoT, consumer electronics, home automation, and the integrator market. Klein also served as the CEO at the award-winning integration firm Media Systems for 14 years, co-founded industry consulting firm StayTuned LLC and, as its’ two-term president, launched CEDIA’s government affairs & certification programs and so much more. In these positions, he elevated each company by developing unique approaches to drive sales, launch products and coordinate teams across departments.
Ms. Fredrickson is an well-known business and legal advisor on M&A matters in the energy industry. She has been a consultant to a multitude of companies (both public and private) on M&A matters and other contractual relationships. Throughout her almost 35-year legal career, Ms. Fredrickson has been recognized for her frank and direct advice, and her negotiating, mentoring and management skills. Since 1998, Ms. Fredrickson has been a partner at two large international law firms providing advice on M&A matters, joint ventures and partnerships and various contractual dealings. Throughout her legal career, she has been recognized as a leader in her field (among others, nominated as one the 25 Most Influential Women in Energy in 2019, receiving the Ernest Smith Lifetime Achievement Award from the University of Texas and receiving a lifetime achievement award from The Texas Lawyer in 2022). As part of her role in transactions, Ms. Fredrickson has devoted substantial time to advising executives and boards of companies on the risks involved in a variety of M&A and other transactions. Ms. Fredrickson is on the boards of Fire Outreach of Houston and Coastal Prairie Conservancy, both of which are non-profit organizations. She currently resides in Houston, Texas and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
A KPMG professional in the audit and advisory practice. My career spanned over 40 years, 29 of which was as a partner. I was responsible for multinational Fortune ranked and middle market and developing company client relationships. Significant experience interacting with senior executive management, Boards of Directors and Audit Committees. I was a member of the leadership committees of Manufacturing, Retail and Distribution practice, Chemicals and Energy practice and Financial Services practice. The roles of those committees were to ensure high levels of professionalism, superior client service and grow revenues. In addition, served as a member of the Firm's Partnership Audit committee, Audit and Advisory Professional Practice Committees as well as being the partner-in-charge of human resources for the Firm's New Jersey practice. I subsequently joined the PCAOB as a Special Associate Director (SAD) in the Division of Registration and Inspections. The SAD role was limited to retired "Big Four" partners. SAD's had exceptional and well rounded professional experience in the application of Professional Standards in auditing and accounting. Currently, an expert witness in accounting and auditing matters retained by counsel representing claimants.
